What do you want to do ?

The very first thing that you need to decide is what actually you want to do there ?

  • Are you going to invest there ?

  • or Are you a refugee ?

These are few areas which you could consider and based on that your visa type will be decided.

Following are few visa types which you can apply and we will discuss them in detail in another article.

Where do you want to go ?

After you decided what do you want to do, the next step is deciding the country and the city or state.

Let's assume that you are planning to apply skilled migration, then as a Sri Lankan you have three (3) options.

  • Canada

  • Australia

  • New Zealand

Now, what are the facts you need to consider to select a country ?

  • Job Opportunities

  • Salary Scales

  • Costs of Living

  • Weather Conditions

  • Diaspora ( community of people who live outside their shared country of origin or ancestry but maintain active connections with it. A diaspora includes both emigrants and their descendants.)

Let's assume that you select Australia. Is it enough, the answer is "NO". Some of their cities are bigger than Sri Lanka. Even after you select a country, you need to consider which city or the state is going to suitable for your requirement by considering above key factors again.
